So I bought this double CD set by accident. I meant to pick the DVD version of this concert, which is also marvelous. I am not into live albums at all. I didn’t bother returning it merely because of my laziness.

One day I decided to give it a go in my car This band is so tight live and I can honestly say that a lot of these songs here sound miles better than the studio versions ex. Forever, When the Lights are Down, Center of the Universe, Karma I think this album was in non-stop rotation in my car for at least 4 months straight! This is a must have for any die hard Kamelot fans and it’s also a great introduction if you’re a new fan.

They are committed to their craft and they do a wonderful job of executing it. Kawn’s vocals, how he pours himself into every song, so much power and passion. Thomas’s and Barry, if there were two gods of the strings, it would be theses guys, and Oliver, the haunting effects that roll from his keyboards, and Casey one of the most talented drummers its been my pleasure to see perform.

These guys bring so much energy and power to each and every song they perform, and if you think this disk is something you should see them live, but if you can’t grab a copy of the DVD it is well worth it, I bought both. If you can’t decide on which Kamelot CD to purchase, this is the one.

Consider this a ‘Best of’ live CD. Recorded in Oslo, Norway, Kamelot is one of those rare groups that perhaps sounds even better live than they do on their studio releases. One of the best live albums I’ve heard. The entire band is spot on, Kahn sounds terrific, and the audio quality is very good for a live album. The album covers material from Kamelot’s Black Halo tour, so most of the material is from that album, which many consider their best, plus other fan favorites such as Center of the Universe, Karma, Forever, etc A must buy if you are a Kamelot fan.

I also suggest their new album Silverthorn with their new singer Tommy Karevik of Seventh Wonder which is also fantastic. This is an awesome performance by one of the best bands in power metal ever. For the CD itself – well recorded and good sound quality for a live recording. I highly recommend this CD and also the Video of the same concert. Great stuff and it’s amazing to hear and see if you have the video version one of the best ever front men in the history of metal or rock.

Roy Khan is absolutely stunning in this performance. Awesome old school rock! This band is great live! Not sure why they haven’t hit big in the mainstream in the US. Oh well, If you’re big in the world, I guess you don’t have to get validation from the US. I really want to hear a new non-conceptual CD release with their new lead singer to see if the magic continues.

If you’ve been to a live-concert of them, listening to “One Cold Winters Night” will make you live again that magical moment. For the newer bands in my world, This Band is one of the best. Kamelot enlisted renowned film and video director Patric Ullaeus to chronicle the night’s events. Arriving with him from Gothenberg, Sweden, Patric had a large crew of professionals and equipment including 18 cameras that would be used in and around the concert grounds. The title for the band’s first DVD based on an earlier Kamelot song title was chosen long before the actual shoot.

Ironically this winter turned out to be one of the longest and coldest in the country’s history, with enormous amounts of snow and numerous chaos-causing blizzards. A very special thanks goes out to fans that had to wait in line before doors opened to the sold out show.

Verified Purchase. Well after watching this DVD for a few weeks and really looking it here is my review. First the DVD cover. It looks very nice. Ok the first DVD. I really like the songs they picked to play. The camra work is just great and the people there had a lot of great energy for the band to feed off. They were just the best. The Drum solo was rocking. There could have been more but hey it’s still a lot I well break it down here HaloVision with Khan – I liked seeing the behind the scenes stuff.

Though I’m like that with a lot of movies so this was a given that I would love this. It was nice to see where Thomas lives Casey Grillo at ddrum – This was kind of cool seeing Casey picked out his drum set that he would be using.

Interview with Simone Simons from the band Epica – This was one I have seen it before and nothing really new is learned. It’s only good because you get to see Simone. Ok on to the videos The Haunting – I really like this video and it has a nice feel to it. March of Mephisto March of Mephisto uncensored – Why they did not just have the uncensored video put out is beyond me.

But it’s cool that you get both of them Serenade – I have not really looked at this at so. Making of “The Haunting” – It’s a cool video well more like music video. I wish they would really showen behind the scene things and talked with people about the video March of Mephisto – Live at Sweden Rock – Very great live number and seeing those flames go up druing the summer.

Man that most have been hot for them. Miscellaneous: Photo Gallery including 2 slide shows of concert photos and band’s private photos – Very nice photos here. Band Member Biographies and Top 5’s – I loved this showing what the band members like and did like and so on. Discography – This is a meh.
